Random Equipment Drops - Last Edited: 2016-09-25 20:11:22 by lohrr
==================================================================
Chances:
Start with a 50% chance for even levels and 100 luck.
To start with a 100% chance with equal levels, you need 300 luck.
To start with a 100% chance with 100 luck, you need a level multiplier of 3.0.
Due to the multiplier not being a straight division at lower levels:
For a level 1 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 11.
For a level 2 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 15.
For a level 3 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 19.
For a level 4 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 22.
For a level 5 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 23.
For a level 6 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 26.
For a level 7 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 28.
For a level 8 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 31.
For a level 9 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 33.
For a level 10 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 35.
For a level 11 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 38.
For a level 12 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 40.
For a level 13 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 42.
For a level 14 character, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 44.
For a level character level 15 or greater, the mob level must be greater than or equal to 3 times the level of the character (ie character level 15 means mob level 15 * 3 = 45). This means that there is a cap of 100% for a level 20 character killing a level 60/61/62 mob.
Low level characters do get an additional bonus to random drop chance.
Elite mobs also grant an additional bonus to the chance.
Hardcore characters get a bonus as well.
The chance to get a piece of equipment can differ from the chance to get a crafting item.
Quality:
The quality is based on the average level between the mob killed and the character.
This determines the material type, which greatly affects the quality of an item (a wooden sword is no match to an adamantium sword).
Named random items are of greater quality than their unnamed counterparts.
The chance of getting a named item is based on the character's luck level and the mob's level.
You will receive a special message that you got a named random item, if you are a (Newbie).
Named random items give effects such as detect invisibility or protection from fire.
The number of these effects increases with the difficulty of the zone the character is in, as well as real life luck.
There is also a chance that random items will increase a character's statistics.
These include hitroll, damroll, strength, max wisdom, etc.
