has accumulated at these high altitudes.  The Bloodfist Mountain range
stretches off towards the north and west for quite some distance from here.  Not
far to the north, a snowy valley can be seen.  There appears to be a crack
within the ground that leads downwards, quickly becoming an open ravine that
falls away towards the valley below.

circle the area.  The ravine twists along a serpentine path which winds through
and around the roots of the nearby trees.  The area is surprisingly quiet and
there are little signs of animal life.

towards the valley far below.  Just a hint of snow dusts the trail this far up
in the mountain range, but it is easy to see that is not the case some distance
below.  Snow-topped evergreens and pines are scattered about the rim of the
depression, providing a substantial bit of cover.  Glancing closely at the
ground, one can make out the tracks of several smaller animals which have
crossed this trail recently.

it is mostly loose gravel on top of hard sandstone.  The perilous mixture of
elements could spell disaster for anyone losing their balance here.  Thick and
thin roots criss-cross the ravine in various places allowing for a steady
handhold, however these are the exception rather than the rule.  The tracks of
small rodents - perhaps mice - can be seen along the edges of the ravine.

An Entrance to a Huge Cavern
   A rather ominous and huge cavern entrance looks out upon the Bloodfist
mountain range here, its entrance partially obscured by ice-covered boulders.
There are traces of this cavern being used recently by a mature dragon.  Bones
of some large creature have been tossed against a wall, where the splinters
returned to the ground and created a rather impressively spiked pile of detritus.
There is a lingering smell of dragon breath in the air as well.

Broad Flat within the Ravine
   This appears to have been a make-shift campsite at one point or another,
though the scene is far from comforting.  A ragged overhang of sandstone juts
out overhead of a short cave-like area to the east.  Within this area, the
remains of a long cold fire, as well as some also long cold remains of a
humanoid lie upon the ground.  A section of canvas which could have been a tent
or other shelter has been torn to shreds and lies near the carcass.  The body
has been heavily abused by blunt objects and whatever it might have been was
long ago erased in a wash of pain.  The trail which leads through the ravine
leads downwards into the thickening pines which create a forest-ring about the
valley below.  The trail also climbs out of the ravine to the south and west.
A soothing aura fills the area.

Cleft Surrounded by Evergreens
   The ravine becomes steeper here and the ground which flows downwards with
it is mostly loose gravel on top of hard sandstone.  The perilous mixture of
elements could spell disaster for anyone losing their balance here.  Thick and
thin roots criss-cross the ravine in various places allowing for a steady
handhold, however these are the exception rather than the rule.  The tracks of
small rodents - perhaps mice - can be seen along the edges of the ravine.

The sun rises over the northern horizon.
A Trail within the Ravine
   This dirt trail begins on a flat portion of rock before diving downwards
towards the valley far below.  Just a hint of snow dusts the trail this far up
in the mountain range, but it is easy to see that is not the case some distance
below.  Snow-topped evergreens and pines are scattered about the rim of the
depression, providing a substantial bit of cover.  Glancing closely at the
ground, one can make out the tracks of several smaller animals which have
crossed this trail recently.

A Deepening Ravine within the Mountains
   A deep cleft within the natural rock leads downwards towards a
snow-covered valley far below.  Spindly pines and evergreens dot the surface
of the mountainsides which form a natural bowl around the protected depression
below.  Hazy clouds drift upon slow-moving air currents that seem to swirl and
circle the area.  The ravine twists along a serpentine path which winds through
and around the roots of the nearby trees.  The area is surprisingly quiet and
there are little signs of animal life.

The Back of a Large Cavern
   The back of this large cavern is partially overcome by the snow and ice that
has accumulated at these high altitudes.  The Bloodfist Mountain range
stretches off towards the north and west for quite some distance from here.  Not
far to the north, a snowy valley can be seen.  There appears to be a crack
within the ground that leads downwards, quickly becoming an open ravine that
falls away towards the valley below.
Obvious exits: -East  -Down 
The corpse of a ShadowBeast is lying here.
