Along the Southeastern Edge of the Bailey Palisade
The dirt lane along the southern palisade is not very well traveled at
this particular point except by soldiers and those interested in the store
of the herbalist around the corner. Virtually no wagon trails are in sight,
although the road has been beaten flat by the constant foot traffic of the
soldiers traveling to their posts on the palisade platforms above.

The Bottom of the Tower at the Southeastern Corner of the Palisade
The southeastern tower stairway stands here, designed to allow soldiers
and archers a manner of passage to the platforms above. The rickety stair-
way, while looking quite fragile, has been reinforced with several thick
logs, and various support beams are nailed to the railing. The mortar at
the bottom of the tower is beginning to crumble, however the rest of the
structure appears to be in immaculate condition.

with the ranger and druidic professions, but virtually none with any others.
The road is in immaculate condition, although the banks are almost entirely
overcome with grass and weeds.

An Intersection of Roads Along the Eastern Palisade
The road between the artisans' and scholars' quarters meets here with the
dirt lane against the palisade. Unlike most intersections in the city, this
one is not rutted deeply by wagon tracks, although foot traffic looks to
have been quite heavy. The flora along the path grows slowly, mostly
consisting of weeds and the odd tuft of grass.

the middle of the road. The palisade here has been the victim of several
acts of mild revolt, having had rude slogans painted upon it in the dead of

The Top of the Tower at the Northeastern Corner of the Palisade
The gateway to the platforms of the palisade at the northeastern corner
of the bailey, this tower is made of solid granite. While prohibitively
expensive, its solid defensive nature makes the tower impregnable to
virtually any of the mundane methods of siege. Magical assaults are a
different store, and scorch marks attest to the vulnerability of a tower
such as this in a fight involving wizards.

A Narrow Platform Along the Northern Palisade
The northern side of the bailey palisade is in all probability the side
least likely to come under attack. Due to its proximity to the motte, an
enemy is unlikely to draw near without detection, and the crossfire between
the archers here and by the keep would be very devastating. The platform
as such is not as well manned as the rest of the platform, however it is
still under guard night and day.

A Bend in the Platform Along the Northern Palisade
The platform bends to the north here, following the palisade as it leaves
the bailey behind and walks its way up up the motte to the keep. The
large wooden structure has been designed with two goals in mind, easy
defense of the castle in event of attack, and quick mobility of the soldiers
without resorting to the often commoner filled streets of the bailey below.

The platform on the palisade bends here as it crests the motte, turning
as it widens to sweep about the keep. The large wooden logs of the palisade
provide a superior defense to attack, although it is unlikely an enemy would
choose this specific spot to attack. Any unlucky foes caught below would
be held in a vicious three-way crossfire from archers.

The Platform on the Palisade Leading Up to the Motte
The palisade stretches up the steep slope of the motte, approaching the
keep above. Narrow and rickety, the wood of the platform is beginning to
rot and is in dire need of either replacement or shoring up. The edged of
the palisade logs have been whittled to a sharp point, to aid in defense of
the ledge should an attacker attempt to scale it.

The northern side of the bailey palisade is in all probability the side
least likely to come under attack. Due to its proximity to the motte, an
enemy is unlikely to draw near without detection, and the crossfire between
the archers here and by the keep would be very devastating. The platform
