   Worn smooth by the passage of many feet a large flat branch forms the
narrow entryway into Windstrider's restaurant.  A wide variety of spices
and aromas are coming from Windstrider's to the north and some birds can
be heard singing in the branches high above.  The sky is filled with
branches and leaves, it is hard to even imagine sunlight reaching this
spot.  A ladder leads back down and Windstrider's is to the north.

seems a bit stagnant.  A ladder leads upward to the doorway to Windstrider's
restaurant and a narrow pathway heads north, east and west.

A Peaceful Glade
   The tree branches have been trimmed away above this point to allow the
sunlight to pass through to the ground.  A wide variety of aromatic flowers has
been planted here creating a beautiful smelling clearing.  Several park benches
have been set here for people to sit and enjoy the scent of the flowers while
watching the hummingbirds dart back and forth.  A moss-lined path leads back to
the west and the clearing extends to the south where a small shine of some sort
has been constructed.

A Bend in the Mistmore Lane
   It is odd to note that the only sign telling anyone that this narrow path
indeed has a name has been placed virtually in the center of the village.  The
carefully carved jodani wood sign proclaims the path to be Mistmore Lane',
probably due to the fine mist that slowly floats down from the branches high
above when it rains.  Elven voices can be heard from the trees above, it seems
that most the elves have made their homes in the tree branches high above the
ground.  Just to the north a narrow stairway has been carved into the gentle
slope of a young jodani tree's root.  Mistmore Lane continues to the south and
east, winding past boulders and tree roots as it travels through the village.

   Moss-covered paths extend in every direction, passing my trees that clearly
house elven families.  A ladder climbs up an ebonwood tree that stands to the
northwest until it reaches branches that must be almost forty feet above the
ground.  The path to the west meets the base of a tremendous jodani tree, and
the paths to the north and east pass by large ebonwoods as well.  The southern
trail appears to curve a great deal past large trees and several clusters of
small boulders to pass out of sight.

Clinging to an Ebonwood Tree.
   A bare spot here where about ten feet of the ladder must have broken off at
some time in the past makes climbing a bit difficult.  Grooves have been cut
into the tree to allow climbing to where the ladder continues upward, but the
climb is somewhat difficult for anyone less agile than one of the elves that
lives above.

On Some Branches High Above the Ground
   Over the centuries the branches of several ebonwood trees have grown
together to form an intertwining network.  These sturdy limbs are used
as simple pathways between the rooms that have been carved out of the
trees themselves.  These branches are so old that branches above have
cut off all of their light.  To the west, the trunks and branches of two
large ebonwoods have grown together and from this joining a large open
room has been made for the elven children to play in.  The ladder
leading downward from here appears broken just below.

preventing any breeze from moving it.  The path continues to the west and a
ladder climbs the jodani tree to the east.

Climbing a Tall Jodani Tree
   The tree extends much higher toward an incredibly thick network of branches.
The ebonwood trees that surround this lone jodani are so close that all the
trees seem to have almost grown together above here, their branches so
intertwined it is impossible to tell one from another.  Elven voices ooze
through the humid air, but in such an intermittent fashion that it is difficult
to say how close or far away they are, or even what direction they are coming
from.

A Mist Shrouded Path
   Rain is an everyday occurrence here in the jungle, but the tree branches high
above tend to catch most of the water, allowing only a fine mist to pass
through to the ground, shattered much like the thin beams of sunlight that
barely make it to the ground when the rain ceases.  The path here is coated
with a thick moss making it easy to travel on despite its rapid rising and
falling as it twists around large tree roots and boulders.

The Path Bends
   Several smooth boulders block the way to the north and a frail looking
ladder leads up the side of an ebonwood to the west ending at a branch
almost fifty feet off the ground.  Small yellow hand prints mark the
sides of the smooth boulders, alongside each hand print a name is written
in elven.  Branches of the ebonwood trees above block almost all light,
and surely any rain, from hitting the ground here.  The narrow pathway
continues toward the west where it again heads north.

A Crossing of Paths
   The moss-lined path splits here, heading north through the elven village as
well as to the east and west along the wall that separates it from the jungle.
The wall itself is quite impressive, made entirely of jodani wood that has been
flawlessly melded together.  Magical treatments have added to the natural
strengths of the wood to make it even more impervious to both physical and
magical attacks.

Inside the Gates to Moonhollow
   A village of wild-elves has been carefully constructed here, deep inside the
Rift Valley Jungle.  These elves are far more sturdy and muscular than their
more well-protected brethren in more distant lands.  Life in the Rift Valley
Jungle is brutal, leaving only the strong and wise to survive for long.  The
elves allow visitors, though they clearly aren't very trusting.  A narrow
passageway leads out of the village through a massive jodani tree to the south.
Flawless jodani wood walls extend south and west from the tree to meet the
large cliffs that enclose the Rift Valley Jungle.  Moss-lined paths wind off to
the east and west passing through and around a variety of ebonwood and jodani
trees.

A Meeting of Paths
   The narrow pathway is well shaded by some large ebonwood trees to the north
and the tall jodani wood wall to the southwest.  It is clear from this side of
the wall that it is extremely thick and well made.  Light reflects off the
highly polished wall with a faint red hue, it is easy to see why jodani wood is
so valuable, and easy to be impressed by the cost of its creation.  There is a
narrow walkway along the top of the wall that is about forty feet off the
ground.  Voices of elven children seem to rain down from the trees to the east
and north.  An extremely narrow pathway leads east past a large boulder toward
the trunks of several ebonwood trees and the path continues to the south, east,
and west and a large ebonwood tree stands to the north.

   The narrow pathway leads north and south along the huge wooden wall.
A large tree to the west stretches over 250 feet upward, its upper
branches obscuring the sky.  The branches above, and even the high
walkway on the jodani wall, are home to a number of small colorful birds
and squirrels.  The lower branches of the trees in the area are about
fifty to sixty feet above the ground, yet people, probably elves, can be
seen moving across them.

A large tree to the west stretches over 250 feet upward, its upper
branches obscuring the sky.  The branches above, and even the high

A Path Along the Jodani Wood Wall
   The path here is tightly enclosed by the jagged rocky walls to the east and
the jodani wood wall to the west.  The wall itself meets the cliffs just to the
south of here where a long ladder leads up to the walkway that traverses the
wall high above.  Tree branches extend from the north to shade this area,
providing both shade and protection from the elements.  Enough of the normal
jungle undergrowth has been cleared away that faint breezes stir the air,
sometimes bringing the sounds of elven voices along with them.

At the Base of the cliffs
   The cliffs stick out a bit here creating a perfect spot for the jodani wood
wall protecting the village to join with them.  Jagged edges have been worn
down some by wind and water, but some spots reveal relatively recent rock
slides that have revealed new sharper edges.  The cliff seems to lean inward
from the south and east making this area dark, and somewhat lonely.

On a Jodani Wood Wall
   A wooden walkway goes north along the wall toward the huge jodani
tree that makes the entrance to Moonhollow and north into an opening in
the cliff face.  It is easy to see over the wall here toward the jungle.
The area immediately before the wall has been cleared of most heavy
jungle growth to prevent anyone from approaching unseen, and to prevent
the jungle vines and trees from growing high enough to make the wall
worthless defensively.  Trees inside the wall have also been trimmed
back so that opposing wizards can't use them in anyway to attack the
wall.  Openings have been made at regular intervals along the wall to
allow archers a clear range of fire.  The walkway continues to the
north and a cave can be seen to the south.

On a Jodani Wood Wall
   A walkway extends to the west where it enters an immense jodani tree
and goes southward toward an opening in the cliff.  A wide opening, or
notch, has been made in the wall and a heavy ballista has been
mounted here.  Ballista missiles line a rack that has been mounted on
the wall, ready for quick loading.
Obvious exits: -South -West

A Passage Through a Jodani Tree
   A narrow passage through the tree links the walkways along the
northern and western halves of the Moonhollow wall.  Magically lit rods
have been placed around the passage to light the passage and the narrow
ladder leading down to the guardroom over the gates.  A trumpet hangs
from a peg near the western exit, ready to be sounded in an emergency.

On a Jodani Wood Wall
   The walkway continues to the west where it enters the huge jodani
tree that is used as the Moonhollow entrance and to the east where it
ends by a cliff.  A wide notch has been made for the heavy ballista that
has been mounted here.  Two racks on either side of the opening contain
ballista missiles that are ready to be rapidly loaded and fired.  Trees
to the east and west block all view of anything other than the road
along the inside of the wall and the cleared area of the jungle outside
of the wall.
Obvious exits: -East -West
