Levels in Duris are accomplished by killing or being engaged with mobs.  The progress through 
each level can be determined by the 'experience' gained, and there are 9 notches in 'exp' to
get to the next level.  Levels become substantially more difficult to obtain at level 20, which
is why many people are found in groups.  Once a character reaches level 46, they will be required
to touch an epic stone to advance further even if they have enough experience.  After level 50,
only certain stones will allow you to advance.

In 2016, we developed a level cap system by which one must acquire frags in order to level above 25; once someone reached .4 frags, level 26 was opened for their racewar side, at .8 frags level 27 was opened for them and 26 for others, at 1.2 frags level 28 for them and 27 for others and so on.
  This resulted in very unbalanced times when level 31 was obtained for one side (fist and full heal) and the rest only had level 30 (cure critic and fireball).  To balance this, the differential was removed at circle levels (when the frag leading side obtained a circle level, the losing sides also gained said circle level).  It was also deemed at this time that .4 frags per level was too small, and it was raised to .6.
  Another problem that arose was that people were throwing themselves at the other side to raise the level cap prematurely.  In order to combat this, a freeze period was introduced; you could now only raise the level cap after a waiting period that started each time the level cap was raised.  This introduced a couple interesting dilemmas; what if, during the frozen period, another side took the frag lead?  And, what if someone got 100 frags the first day then quit?
  For the first dilemma, we decided that the level cap should swap from the previous leaders to the current leaders capping the previous leaders one level below (without deleveling anyone since nobody likes to be deleveled).
  For the second dilemma, we decided that you must frag once the timer is up to increase the level cap; if you already have 100 frags, a .01 frag would suffice, but you must be present and fragging to raise the level cap.
  And the latest dilemma has been, what happens when the 100 first-day fragger quits?  Does the level cap stay at 26 until someone goes above 100 frags?  This also seemed a little absurd, so we decided any fragger that reaches the amount of frags needed to raise the level cap will raise it (assuming the timer had elapsed before the last time they fragged).

Inside a Slave Pen
    The condition of this pen is absolutely wretched. One could say that
the condition of the cattle pen is luxurious compared to this place.
Slaves unfortunate enough to be kept here are forced to live in their own
filth. Numerous rats can be heard scurrying across the floor and
occasionally huge bugs can be seen running across the pen. The pen is
very small too and the slaves are forced to live with little room to
lie down. Diseased blood and other bodily fluids can be seen on the ground
further showing how disgusting a place this is.

A Path Near a Slave Pen
    The ground here has been cleared so that many people can be in here
at once. There is a massive bonfire burning at the center and north of
that is a giant platform which the auctioneer stands on to sell items
or slaves. Northwards is the wall of the bandit leaders home. The actual
auction is being held to the southeast where a crowd of people have
gathered. Because this place is so open it would be a bad place to be caught
if the bandits were searching here. Eastwards leads to the entrance of
a wooden structure while to the north the entrance to a slave pen can be
seen. It can be seen from here that the condition of the slave pen is
terrible and very unsanitary.
