An Abandoned Waystation
It seems as if there was once a way station here. It was probably constructed
as early warning and defense against some of the undead who dwell on the other
side of the mountain. It stands well over one hundred feet tall and sits on top
of the mountainside, allowing a great view of the surrounding lands. Anyone
looking could easily spot something moving from great distances. Raid parties
are more easily discernable. This tower must have served a vital role for the
the early defense of some of the less protected settlements of the land.
The treacherous mountains prevent anyone from entering the lands to the north,
leaving this the sole route. Dark skies above signal rain and thunder can be
heard in the distance. A small wind creates an eerie sound.

A Small Trail Through the Mountains
This is a very small trail used by game. There are other smaller trails that
break off and run into foliage and into deeper darker places unseen. The prints
from the game are dry and imprinted. When it rains the trail is almost washed
clean of all prints and becomes mush. The plants that these game feed off of
are few because it looks as if a large majority of the green that grows on this
trail and perhaps all of the forest is poisonous. Any number of poisonous
plants litter the trail. A small breeze stirs the restless branches and leaves
that cover the ground, and a strange odor can be smelled. From this vantage
point nothing can be seen of the surrounding mountainside, however, from a
higher vantage point one can see the magnificence of the impervious mountain
and the thick forests that are within.
