Top of the Palace
   The top of the palace is completely ignited in a roaring inferno.  What
appears to be insubstantial fire, actually is magically solidified and provides
surfaces upon which to travel.  The fire seems to follow living beings within
the area, moving quietly beneath the invisible surface.  The view from here is
astounding, as the Elemental Plane of Fire stretches out to the very edges of
the horizon.  The orange tinged sky is filled with sparks, fireballs and other
phenomenon not often seen on any other plane of existence.  The spires of the
palace can be seen at the four corners of the roof here, though each appears to
waver in and out of existence due to the immense amount of heat.
An evil aura fills the area.

On a Grand Staircase
   The staircase leading to the upper reaches of the palace is crafted in
much the same way as the rest of the palace.  Blocks of the charcoal colored
stone wind their way upwards, slowly melding into a flowing stairway that
rises to a hole in the burning ceiling.  Thin spines hold up a rough
handrail that travels along with the stairway; many of the spines glow red
hot as if they had been superheated.

Nearing a Staircase
   A dark staircase winds upwards to the west, where it disappears through
the flame-engulfed roof of this chamber.  This particular region of the palace
is particularly odd, as remnants of a battle that waged here not long ago are
still visible. Splatters of charred blood mar the surfaces of several pillars
and the walls. A broken silver arrow, the tip of a mithril sword and some other
miscellaneous debris of warfare can be seen.  What might have happened or when
remains a mystery, however.
