much the same way as the rest of the palace.  Blocks of the charcoal colored
stone wind their way upwards, slowly melding into a flowing stairway that
rises to a hole in the burning ceiling.  Thin spines hold up a rough
handrail that travels along with the stairway; many of the spines glow red
hot as if they had been superheated.
An evil aura fills the area.
