Backstab
=========================================
Syntax: backstab <victim>
A backstab is an attempt to sneak up on the victim and place a weapon in
the victim's back at exactly the point where it will do the most damage.
The amount of damage incurred is dependent on the proficiency of the
backstabber and is modified by:
- The weapon being used. A weapon with better overall damage will also be
better for backstabbing with. Number of dice matters more than size, though
very slightly.
- If the victim has aware.
- If the victim is in melee.
- If the victim is guarded.
- If the victim is sleeping or incapacitated.
- Damroll, skill level, strength and dexterity all modify the damage as well.
A player character may attempt to save damage against repeated stabs, or while under the affect
of aware. When under the affect of aware or being a victim of multiple
stab attempts, the character now has a chance to roll a save, halving the stab
damage. The roll is based on: Victim's Intelligence vs. Stabber's Agility + Backstab Skill.
Higher Intelligence gives a victim a higher chance to save against repeated/aware
stab attempts, higher agility gives the attacker a better chance to succeed full damage.
Note: Mountain and Duergar Dwarves are immune to the aware check when backstabbing
their victim.
You may only backstab with piercing weapons. Assassins with good enough
proficiency at dual wielding weapons may double-backstab if they wield two
piercing weapons.
You cannot backstab someone who is in a single file room.
